A group of six major DSOs has decided to gather their expertise and propose a common project for smart grids development in Europe.
To be successful, this collaboration of leader DSOs also needed to benefit from other expertise coming from other partners such as universities, equipment manufacturers...

GRID4EU is a key project for the European Commission which is expected to become a "showcase" of the European state of the art on smart grids.
To carry out this mission, GRID4EU is structured to conduct six demonstrators within 3 Task Forces. These three Task Forces have been built to study different integration. The coordinator (ERDF) and the technical director (ENEL) will ensure that between all task forces constant exchanges of information and technical progress are achieved.
